The Real Secret to Making Your Business Work
(we’ll give it to you for free)

How’s that for a traditional sleazy/squeezy headline? But really, no kidding, this actually is the secret.

The other guys (you know who I mean) won’t tell you the secret because it isn’t a magic pill you take and wake up rich the next morning. Elves do not haul bags of cash to you in the middle of the night, hiding them like easter eggs around the house.

The real secret is . . . tweaks.

Tweaks?

Seriously. Tweaks.

You’re far enough along in your business that you’ve already done a lot of work. But it’s not quite there yet.

You’re seeing a response, but it wasn’t the response you were hoping for. You need to do better. You’re pretty sure you can do better. But you’re not sure exactly, um, how.

The answer is tweaks.

The annoying part about having an online (or offline) business is that you can get it 99% right, but until you get the last 1% in place, the damned thing doesn’t work right.

It’s sort of like a car. (I will pause while you collapse into helpless laughter at the thought of me knowing anything about how a car works. Are you done yet? Not quite? OK, how about now? Let’s move on.)

Almost everything about the engine of your car can be working perfectly. But if even one stupid part is a little messed up, the car won’t run the way it’s supposed to. It may not run at all.

Your business is like that. You’ve got to get all the little pieces working properly together.

Fortunately for me, a good marketing and business plan is a lot less complicated than a car engine. If it wasn’t, I’d be living in a van down by the river. But the principle is the same. Each little piece needs to do its part.

That’s where the tweaks come in.

Here’s where it gets interesting

So you're probably thinking, "tweaks, though? How excited can I get about tweaks?"

This is where it gets good.

If you tweak the right things by just a little bit (according to People Who Get Math, it's about 12.5%), you can double your business.

Without doubling how hard you're working, how much you spend on advertising, how lucky you get, etc. So 12.5% of effort = Double the business. It's pretty danged cool.

The tricky part is knowing which areas of focus are the right ones, that will work together to get you the whole doubling thing. Fortunately, we've got that covered for you.

Will we selfishly guard this knowledge and make you pay for it? Hell no. Here are the six areas you want to tweak to pull off the doubling trick:

Get more people in the door

More traffic, more eyeballs, more attention. You can do everything else perfectly, but if no one shows up to see what you've got, nothing else works. That's why this is Week 1 in the course. (Remember, you don't need a FLOOD of new traffic. You just need to take things from, say, 100 new visitors a week to 112. Sound workable?)

Turn more prospects into paying customers

If a million people visit your site and none of them buy, that's not really any fun at all. This class will be very nuts and bolts. Conversion's one of the most important things you can learn, and fortunately it's also one of the most straightforward.

So let's say you're converting 10% of visitors into buyers. We just need to bump that to 11 or 12%. Not scary.

Make more money per sale

So your average sale right now is $20. Think you could increase that to $23? Yeah, so do we. We'll give some specific strategies.

Throw less time away

This one gets a little scary, but we've got you covered. Trust us, this is not about becoming some kind of freakish productivity superman. This is about, if you have 4 decent hours of work in you a day, maybe nudging that to 4 1/2.

Or even better, getting 4 1/2 hours' worth of work, without spending any more time.

After the sale

Tons of opportunity here. The only hard part will be limiting your repeat and referral business to just a 12.5% increase. I'm not even kidding.

Creating more love

A better bond with your customers, a stronger relationship, the kind of crazed loyalty that means your people won't even think of wandering off.

It can be tricky to measure, but it's not hard to do. (And doing business this way is about a zillion times more fun.) Tons of ideas for how you can be a hero to your customers without exhausting yourself or cutting your prices to Wal*Mart levels.

Here’s what we’ve got

So what’s the Marketing for Nice People course all about, anyway?

It's about addressing each of those six areas of focus, and finding the easy stuff to fix.

It’s about tackling the pieces that aren’t working. It’s about fixing each little piece up so that it works well, and supports the other pieces.

It's about doubling your business.

None of the tweaks requires a lot of money, brain power, time or superpowers of any kind.

You can totally do this. Or you can find someone who likes to do that kind of thing, tell them how you need it set up, and they’ll do it for you. For less than billions of dollars.

Some of the tweaks are so simple Paris Hilton could do them. Others may require at least Lindsay Lohan abilities. You are actually probably grossly overqualified.

A few tweaks we'll talk about

  • How to build an email list
  • What to do with people once they’re on your list
  • The right way to use Twitter
  • Singing your own song—creating an ethical, compelling persona for a business advantage that can never be stolen from you
  • What to do after the sale to dramatically increase repeat and referral business
  • A vast array of non-sleazy marketing tricks (and maybe 1 or 2 that are just a little sneaky)
  • How to grow your business without making your life even more insane than it already is
  • How to get moving again when your wheels are spinning

This isn’t that sage-sounding marketing advice you’ve been cramming your head full of.

This is what you actually do with all of that advice.

Marketing for Nice People is a six-week audio course, and it costs $197. If you hate audio, you lucky little bean, we’re also providing complete transcripts. We’ll release the recordings for you to download every Tuesday, so you can keep your momentum up.

The class officially starts on May 26, but if you order early, you get in on the pre-session on May 19.

And since the course is about doing things, each lesson also has a next action worksheet. Instead of making you translate the advice into action for your business, we’ll sit down each week and boil the call down to the most important things you need to do next.

Because we really do get that the most brilliant advice in the world won’t help you if you’re too overwhelmed to act on it. Been there, done that.

(You can click that big BUY IT button if you know you want the course and you want to quit reading all this waffle. But you should come back and finish it when you're done. It's quite educational, actually.)

(The buy buttons have been disabled because the course is currently closed to new members. But we thought you might find them entertaining to look at, anyway.)

But wait, there’s more

Of course, it wouldn’t be the Internet if we didn’t pack on about four billion dollars’ worth of bonuses.

  • Naomi’s 101 Tweaks to Fix Your Marketing and Your Business. Not every tweak needs a long, complicated call to explain. Here are 101 things you can get rolling on right away.
  • Sonia’s 12 Reasons Your Sales Copy Isn’t Converting, an hour-long audio lesson on the mistakes that keep your sales material from getting any customers. This also comes with Sonia’s copywriting and persuasion checklist, the same list she uses to fix problems in her own copy, whether for herself or her clients. (We're delivering this lesson on May 19 as the pre-session before the official course starts.)
  • Sonia’s complete email content course in convenient PDF form, so you don’t have to wait for 40 days to get the whole thing delivered one lesson at a time to your email box. This goes with the call you already have about becoming an Email Marketing Rockstar, and gives you the final bits and pieces to make your email marketing as amazing as it can possibly be.
  • All of the killer free stuff from the pre-launch, so you can have everything in one handy spot. That includes the hour-long conference call on Non Sleazy Copywriting , the hour and 45 minute long call on How to Be an Email Marketing Rockstar, and additional lessons on making prospects love you, turning your customers into zombies (and have them dig it), and more.

What this is going to do for you

You’re the space shuttle on the launch pad, firing your rockets just as hard as you can. And you’re almost there.

This course will give you the last little boosters that are going to get you off the ground.

Implementing the tweaks will let you:

  • Make more money. (Duh.) The tweaks are all about finding more customers, spending less money to get them, and massively building the value of the customers you already have.
  • Enjoy your business more. Frustration sucks. Being stuck sucks. The tweaks will get your momentum going again. Plus, they’re actually fun to do.
  • Spend more time outside your business. Spending all your time with your nose to the grindstone just gets you a flat, funny-looking nose. Quit doing shit you hate, quit doing shit you’re no good at, and remember that life you once had before you had the crazy idea of starting a business. It’s still waiting for you, your life. It wishes you would hurry up already.
  • Attract better customers. You can always tell when your marketing and business plans aren’t properly tweaked, because you start to hate the people who pay you money. If you ever say "my business would be fabulous if it weren’t for my customers," you need the tweaks.
  • Buy a villa in Tuscany and spend all your time there rolling around in a swimming pool filled with champagne and money. OK, not everyone will attain this one. But if it’s what you really want, we’ll move you in the right direction, anyway.

Here’s what to do next

Click the giant BUY IT NOW button to reserve your spot in the course. The six-week course and the bonuses are $197.

The course doesn’t officially start until May 26, but because you're signing up now, we’ll keep your motor running with an early start.

On May 19, you get Sonia’s audio copywriting lesson (The 12 Reasons Your Sales Copy Isn't Converting) and checklist. So by signing up now, essentially you get a seven-week course for the same price.

The ridiculously cocky guarantee

If you read or listen to the first lesson and complete the worksheet, and you don’t think you’re going to be able to easily get 10x that amount back by implementing the tweaks, let us know so we can give you all of your money back.

We seriously do not want to take anyone’s money who can’t get real value from the course.

I actually know that if you put these tweaks into place, it’s going to be worth a lot more than 10 times $197. Each of these tweaks is something you can use again and again. And they work together, each one making the others more effective.

Do more of the tweaks, make more money*. Repeat until you’re just sick and tired of all that filthy wealth.

Why you need to do this right away

We’ll be handling questions the same way we did with the Email Rockstar call. We’ve been in one too many teleseminars where someone forgets to mute and you end up listening to a 50-minute conversation they’re having with their shrink about their increasingly uncomfortable feelings for their cocker spaniel.

NO MORE.

But to make sure everybody’s questions get answered, we can’t take an unlimited number of people. So we’re limiting it to 500 participants. Based on our experience, that number of students will give us enough questions for really meaty sessions, without making the Q&A sessions outright overwhelming. (For you or for us.)

Here’s the thing. I believe this course will sell out.

I’m not sure when, but we got a really nice response from the folks on Copyblogger, and we have quite a few people who have asked to pre-register. (We’re not letting anyone pre-register, because that doesn’t seem fair. But we figure if they asked, they’re going to buy.)

I don’t know if this is right for you. Only you know that. But if it is, I truly would feel horrible if you missed out on it because you couldn’t get a spot. I’m not pressuring you, just saying.

Either way, we’re going to close the doors on May 26, when the first class starts.

* The obligatory disclaimer

We don’t know how much money, if any, you’ll make with this. We don’t know how hard you’re going to work, how good your market is, whether or not you have a product that’s actually saleable, or any of the other things that go into building a business.

We can’t and don’t promise any specific financial return from Marketing for Nice People. We do, however, promise that if after the first lesson you don’t believe the product is worth 10x what we’ve charged you, you can leave the course and get all your money back. Fair enough?

The equally obligatory P.S.

Sorry this ran so long. That’s what happens when I eat ice cream. I just keep writing and writing and can’t shut up.

P.P.S., in copywriting, it’s traditional to put something here that will hypnotize you into buying.

So we'll include a subtle subliminal message in the shopping cart button below. See if you can spot it.
